Louisburg Recreation Commission hires first director

The Louisburg Recreation Commission recently announced the hiring of its first director.

The recreation board selected Diana Moore to serve as director of the newly-formed recreation commission. The public is invited to attend the commission’s meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Louisburg City Hall to meet the new director.

“The addition of Diana Moore to our program will enable us to continue to build on the awesome opportunity we have to create a dynamic recreation program. This organization will benefit all area residents, young and old alike,” said Sam Long, board chairman. “We had a large and fantastic pool of applicants for the director position. We just kept coming back to Diana as being the absolute perfect person for the job.”

Moore previously led the Louisburg Soccer Club, serving as an advisor beginning in 2010 before taking over as president in 2016. During this time, the soccer club has enjoyed great success and respect throughout the area.
