Seward County taking steps to preserve public records, including social media

Paper and computer documents have always been considered public record for government entities, and in today’s world, the scope of public records includes the world of social media.
“Social media facilitates communication and engagement with citizens, while promoting transparency and trust in government,” said information for an item on the agenda for tonight’s Seward County Commission meeting.
With great digital power, however, the information said, comes great legal responsibility.
