The Leavenworth County Commission has been receiving reports from residents regarding flooding issues. And the chairman says city staff members are looking into the complaints. Areas of Leavenworth County received as much as six inches of rain Monday night and Tuesday morning. Leavenworth County remained under a flood warning Thursday because of flooding along portions of Stranger Creek.
“We’ve had some very unusual rain patterns I would say,” Commission Chairman Doug Smith said.
Graeber said some of the photographs of flooding he has seen are alarming.
Smith said various county departments are following up on the reports to see if they involve issues that can be addressed by the county government or matters that are the responsibility of property owners.
