Neosho County Commissioners talked to engineers at Friday morning’s meeting about ways to make road grading more efficient.
Engineers Danny Coltrane and Holly Powers of Shafer, Kline and Warren in Tulsa, met with the commissioners, who are interested in housing county road graders closer to job sites so they spend less time traveling and more time grading.
Coltrane said they have never done that kind of work before, but have done similar work for different outcomes. He said it is a good idea, but they have never received that kind of request.
The engineers spoke with commissioners about establishing maintenance standards for county roads, so that when an outside agency such as an oil business comes in, the commission can be certain any road damage is repaired to the previous level.
