What could Sedgwick County lose if federal funding stripped?

With a vow from the White House to strip funding from “Sanctuary Cities”, Sedgwick County could lose millions of dollars.

On Wednesday, a White House spokesman said that the president will sign an executive order stripping all federal grants given to communities that are “Sanctuary Cities.”

An audit from 2015 revealed that Sedgwick County received $11,013,543 in federal awards. If that money is stripped, services for health services, law enforcement, schools and transportation could be impacted.

What upsets several leaders in Sedgwick County is there is no legal definition of a Sanctuary City.
