County takes on muddy roads

It costs between $20,000 and $25,000 a mile to rebuild a gravel road, Saline County Road Supervisor Darren Fishel told the county commission at a study session Tuesday.

And according to Saline County commissioners, the county has a need for a lot of miles to be rebuilt.

Fishel and County Engineer Neil Cable gave the commissioners an orientation on the Road and Bridge Department.

Commission Chairman Monte Shadwick was seeking a long-term plan for the department.
