After some discussion with Butler County Jail Captain Erik Ramsey, commissioners approved the officer retention incentive program.
The program has had several added perks and guidelines added into the program. Perks include a $1,000 hiring bonus upon successful completion of training and six month evaluation. At nine months new hires receive $500 and at 12 months another $500. Current employees will receive $500 immediately and $500 in 12 months to promote retention.
A promotion will not negate the incentive and any person hired while the program is in place will receive the bonuses even if at it’s yearly evaluation in December the commission decides to terminate the project.
