Cities, county discuss options for future growth

Joined by several county and city officials, Miami County commissioners continued their discussion Dec. 14 about whether the county should modify its regulations regarding five-acre lots.
Currently, a majority of the county is zoned either Agricultural, which has a minimum lot size of 20 acres, or Countryside, which has a minimum lot size of 15 acres. There are ways to achieve smaller lot densities, as small as two acres, through programs that utilize Ag designs or conservation preservation designs.
