Work continues on handbook for county employees

The Bourbon County Commissioners are hoping to have a revised employee handbook completed by the end of the year.

On Tuesday, County Counselor Justin Meeks reported on his progress on the revisions.

The handbook was last revised in 1998.

Commissioners Barbara Albright and Harold Coleman voted to change the residency restriction. New employees holding a required license or employees of the sheriff’s office and correctional center will no longer be required to live in Bourbon County. Meeks said eliminating the restriction from those positions would help offset a shrinking employee pool.
