Reno County Commission formally prohibits open carry of firearms in county buildings

The Reno County Commission approved a resolution Tuesday formally prohibiting the open carry of guns in all county buildings.

The county previously had posted buildings to prohibit the weapons, but there was not a specific written policy against open carry, County Counselor Joe O’Sullivan explained.

“It was suggested it might be preferable to have that direction from the County Commission in writing, which is in the form of a resolution,” O’Sullivan said.
