The McPherson County Commission approved a ten-year property tax abatement for an expansion proposed by Viega, LLC during its meeting Monday morning.
Viega plans to construct a 90,000-square-foot building to the south of its most recent addition. This building will be used to manufacture copper press fittings, which are currently sourced from Germany.
The building is expected to bring up to 72 new full-time jobs to McPherson and cost $85 million. It will allow Viega to produce its popular copper fittings in the United States and meet projected increases in demand.
