Recording policy on Parsons slate

Parsons city commissioners on Monday likely will adopt a policy concerning the broadcasting of their meetings.
At the direction of the commission, the city staff recently began video recording meetings for live broadcast on Cable One’s Channel 5 and streaming on livestream.com. The policy city staff created for Monday’s possible approval details what meetings will be recorded, where they can be viewed and how they will be archived.
Most notably, the policy states that Thursday afternoon work sessions will be broadcast and streamed online. The city staff originally didn’t include that in its rough draft of the policy, preferring instead that only regular meetings be broadcasted, but commissioners instructed the staff also to include the work sessions that precede the regular meetings. Thursday’s was the first work session to be video recorded.
