The grocery store in Erie will get an extension on the economic development incentives it received from the city when it opened.
The Erie City Council on Monday approved a four-year extension on an electrical utility discount for Stub’s Market, 525 W. State St. The discount will continue until May 2020. The discount consists of a waiver of a 6 percent administration fee and fuel adjustment costs.
The council originally approved the discount in 2012 as an incentive for Dave “Stub” and Shirlene Mahurin to reopen the store.
The Mahurins had operated Stub’s Market in a building they constructed in 2009 after a flood caused heavy damage to their old building.
