It has been 20 years since Louisburg created a comprehensive plan for the future of the city. Some believe it is time to develop a new plan.
At the City Council meeting March 21, members were presented with an economic development assessment prepared by Jim Roland of the Red Hills Group, LLC, that presented seven steps for the council to take. One of the main things needed is a new comprehensive plan, Roland said.
“The assessment tells you where you are now,” he said. “The comprehensive plan addresses where you want to go next. A comprehensive plan is absolutely essential to creating a path forward. Your current comprehensive plan does get updated, but it is old and outdated.
