Leavenworth County commissioners discussed Thursday whether the county is bound by a letter written eight years ago by a former planning and zoning director.
“It’s a very interesting legal question that I think needs to be answered,” Commissioner Clyde Graeber said.
Commissioners ended up tabling the matter to allow County Counselor David Van Parys to look into the matter.
At issue is a 2008 letter written by Chris Dunn. At the time he wrote the letter, Dunn was the director of the Leavenworth County Planning and Zoning Department.
In the letter, Dunn indicated building, entrance and waste water system permits were issued at no charge for a new residence at 25941 Stranger Road.
