Neighborhood blight is not an issue that appears to be going away anytime soon. That’s something a lot of people would like to see changed.
Members of the South Central Kansas Landlord Association appeared before the Wellington City Council Tuesday night at city hall to voice their displeasure with the state of a lot of properties throughout town.
Kenneth Moore, president of the association, began things during the audience participation portion of the regular council meeting by telling the council that landlords often struggle to rent properties because neighboring properties are so poorly taken care of.
Moore openly wondered what it would take to get people to clean up the trash around town, and what could be done to speed up the process.
