Shawnee County OKs arrangement for Quest Credit Union to donate $180,000 to improve Skyline Park

Shawnee County Commissioners Monday approved a contract they hope will bring a rising number of visitors to Topeka’s highest point.

Commissioners Shelly Buhler, Bob Archer and Kevin Cook voted 3-0 to adopt an agreement between the county, Quest Credit Union and the Shawnee County Parks and Recreation Foundation arranging for Quest to donate $180,000 over the next six years to make improvements to the county-owned, 106-acre Skyline Park in southwest Topeka. The park is the site of Burnett’s Mound, the tallest place in Topeka.
