It’s the thing most people hate to pay the most but it provides a variety of services both in the city and county.
Sales taxes are an everyday part of life. While everyone wishes they were lower, they do support essential services in both the city and county.
Right now, the sales tax in the City of Pratt is 9.0 percent while the sales tax in the county is 8.25 percent.
Sales tax revenue is divided among four entities in the city: 6.5 percent goes to the state; 0.75 percent goes to the city; 0.75 percent goes to Pratt Regional Medical Center and 1.0 percent goes to the county, said Pratt City Director of Finance Diana Garten.
