City will remain liable

South Central Kansas Medical Center (SCKMC) might be Arkansas City’s very own example of “too big to fail” — a phenomenon that saw the U.S. Federal Government bailing out large banks during the Great Recession.
According to documents outlining SCKMC’s construction bonds, including audits and the bond document itself, the City of Arkansas City will remain liable for any payments not made.
The 800-page set of documents also outlines the consequences of defaulting on the payments to bond owners.
