Valley Center retesting water after finding high levels of lead

The city of Valley Center has been sending warning brochures to its water customers about high levels of lead found in a recent test.

Out of the twenty homes tested, three came back with unacceptable levels of lead. Now the city is re-testing its water supply to see if they truly have a lead issue, but it could be months before they find out the results.

“We’re concerned obviously, but not paranoid or scared,” said Valley Center resident John Hart.
