City’s new police chief arrives in Wichita

Wichita’s new police chief is in town, and he’s ready to take charge of the department.

Gordon Ramsay is the city’s first permanent police chief since Norman Williams retired in 2014.

Ramsay’s hiring at the end of last year ended a months-long search that saw two different chief searches and five finalists for the job.

A veteran police officer of 22 years, Ramsay will take over the post Thursday.
