A memo given to employees at Ducommun’s local plant on Friday indicated the company is considering a relocation to Coffeyville, but city of Parsons officials hope a deal can be made to keep the company from leaving town.
The memo from John Kelley, Ducommun vice president and general manager, stated the company is looking at facility alternatives to support future growth rather than expansion at the existing site at 3333 Main. Ducommun officials have been discussing a vacant building in an industrial park with the city of Coffeyville.
The city of Parsons staff set up a special meeting of the Parsons City Commission on Monday afternoon to discuss possible incentives for an expansion here instead.
