There are plans to increase security — at the historic Butler County Courthouse pending County Commission approval.
New measures including putting card readers for employees at all the doors and adding security cameras.
The county’s Dan Ingalls says security cameras will also be placed in several places at the old courthouse. Some will be in the parking lots. Some will be in hallways near offices where a lot of people visit such as the Treasurer, and Driver’s License Office.
It’s not the same level of security at the Judicial Building which has guards and metal detectors to screen people before they can enter courtrooms.
But rather key card entry for doors so employees could have access during non business hours
