Ash tree culling under way in northern parts of Prairie Village

The efforts to prevent widespread emerald ash borer infestations in Prairie Village are having a visible impact on several streets in the northern neighborhoods of the city.

The city’s public works department has worked with arborists for more than a year on a multi-year plan to address the threat of the emerald ash borer, which was confirmed in Prairie Village last March. Prairie Village and Johnson County officials have been working to educate homeowners about their options in the face of emerald ash borer infestation for several months.
