City leaders in Rose Hill are in recruitment mode after it was announced Friday that the Wal-Mart Express is one of 254 stores that will be closing. The Arkansas based retail giant included nine Kansas stores, including three Wichita area locations.
“While this news is unfortunate, the City has already reached out to multiple grocery store chains about the possibility of continuing operations as soon as possible.” said City Administrator Austin Gillley. “The store’s profitability and loyal customer base give us good reason to believe that this presents an excellent opportunity for another company to reap the benefits of doing business in Rose Hill.”
