Some Hillsboro residents said their Walmart has only been open a few months and for it to already be leaving town is disappointing.
But for Dale Franz, the news isn’t so bad. He owns Dale’s Supermarket, the only other grocery store in town. It’s been owned and operated by his family for the last 50 years. His grocery store will be the only one left in town will Walmart closes and he expects for business and his working hours to pick up big time.
“We’ve gone through it the last two years when the other store has closed in town so we know pretty well what to expect,” said Franz. “Everything picks up tremendously. It means I’ll be going back to working 80 hours a week instead of 70.”
