Carbondale to discuss replacing police force

The City of Carbondale announced today that it will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, January 11.

The called purpose for the special meeting is to discuss The Osage County Sheriff’s Office taking over the police duties in Carbondale. According to the notice, Laurie Dunn, Osage County sheriff, will be present at the meeting.

The City of Carbondale has been without a police chief since Chris Edin was suspended on Sept. 23 and was later terminated on Oct. 21. No reason was given by the city for either action.
