Judge drops charges against South Haven police chief

Charges of theft and misuse of public funds against a Kansas police chief have been dismissed.

The accusations against South Haven Police Chief Jason Boyd were made public in October of 2015. Wichita attorney Jess Hoeme said the charges stem from a donation of $2,650 made for purchasing police equipment for South Haven’s police department.

On Friday, Sumner County District Judge William Mott dismissed all charges against Boyd.
