It was a packed house at Wednesday’s Sedgwick County Commission meeting. Dozens of residents came out to protest a zoning change in west Wichita.
The item was a zoning request change for 40-acre piece of land near the intersection of Kellogg and 135th Street West. A number of Auburn Hills residents told the commission they are opposed to what the developer wants to put there.
The 40-acre tract of land sits empty except for an abandoned church. The developer wants to put in an event venue for weddings, reunions, corporate retreats and the like.
